Arne

It’s early in the morning and I’m already running late

But i stop off at the corner shop at quarter past 8

Buy a lottery ticket because it means I get to dream

Some chocolate for me lunchbox and a nerdy magazine

As i come out the door I brush against a man

Arne on the corner with a bottle in his hand

On the way back home from work i’m passing by the shop

I think i’ve all i need for tea no need for me to stop

With a plastic bag of empty bottles by his side

I see the man i saw before still standing there outside

Been there all day – it’s getting hard hard for him to stand

I have to walk the dog at night before i go to bed

Anyway it’s a lovely way to clear out in one’s head

So around the park and up the road and past the shop we go

And standing in the same place is this fella that we know

He mutters something to me but i can’t understand
